This has got to be my favorite holiday! I love to tease and be teased. Sam shares in this joy with me, and we spend weeks planning just how we will "get" people. I keep hoping that one year Ryan will join in the fun and make an attempt to fool me, but so far no luck. Caleb joined the scheming this year and we stratigicly placed a rubber snake by the gear shifter in Ryan's car. Since he has a great dislike for snakes, and it is dark when he gets in his car we really thought it would get him. He said it startled him for just a second, but didn't freak him out.
I keep thinking that one year my kids will wise up and be cautious about everything I do on April Fools Day, but so far I still get them. I replaced the cream filling in their Twinkies with shaving cream this year...I NEVER buy Twinkies...don't you think they might think that it was a little odd that I magically bought them on April Fool's Day!!! Sam ate his on the bus and took one bite and knew. Caleb ate the whole thing and told me it was disgusting...well yeah! Noah ate some of his then asked his friend if the cream tasted funny. After his friend licked a bit of the cream he informed Noah that in fact it was not cream, but shaving cream.
I know, I know, I am twisted, but I laughed all day just waiting for them to get home.
I made treats for friends and put them on a plate and double-stick taped the saran wrap all the way around so it was really hard to open, and I sliced the bottom of the garbage bag so that when Ryan took it out it spilled all over. I told him when he got home from scouts to take the big garbage out to the canister, and remained downstairs laughing at myself. I had been sweeping the laundry room, and he came down for the broom. When I asked him what he needed it for he nonchalantly replied "There was a hole in the garbage bag, when I took it out it spilled." I couldn't help not laughing. His reply..."did you do that?" DUHHH! One year I hope he will "GET IT!" I can only hope.

You are too funny! I am going to have to do that next year!!
You crack me up, girlie! How funny. I can just picture you giggling to yourself all day long. I forget about April Fools every year, probably because subconciously I don't want to clean up a mess or make people mad, but those are some good ones!
Every year on April Fool's day I rack my brain for good trick ideas, but lamely, never come up with any. You've given me some great ideas- if I can only remember them next year. Love the shaving cream in the twinkies! Dave loves twinkies (ugh!) so I'll have to do that one next year.
I love April fools day and totally missed it this year. Poor Ryan though. If he is not catching on by now I am not thinking he will. You are lucky. I still think my Pregnant scare for Jeron was the BEST!
That's funny! At work for April Fools I was going to greet people who came in the door "Hi, Welcome to Discount Tires!" However...I found out a little late that I had the day off, so I was a little disappointed, but not too bad.
